Piles, our 3 yr old Bulldog, developed ringworm in September and to be honest we probably didn’t notice it as soon as we should have. By the time we got him to the vet he had two of them on his belly one near the chest and one closer to the rear. We put him through a pretty vigorous round of topical treatments and the ringworm subsided for a few months, but it came back over and over again. Has anyone experienced this before? We are at a loss for words and this is quite frankly getting pretty disheartening. Does anyone have any advice?
I wouldn’t get too down on yourself Shannon. Ringworm isn’t always very easy to spot on your Bulldog and we just don’t pay as much attention to the belly. Sounds like the treatments worked great. Maybe your problem is killing the ringworm in your Bully’s living space? If you haven’t done so already, you need to clean his blankets, bed, toys, your carpets, couch, floors, everything. He could be contracting the ringworm from unsanitary or infected areas and until everything’s been cleaned up he just may keep getting it again and again like you say. Really, between the cleaning and those topical treatments and seeing your vet those are the most important steps to getting rid of the ringworm. I hope you get this solved. Let me know if I can be of anymore help.
